Publishable Summary for Requirements ready for download

The publishable summary collects key results from two iterations on requirements for energy efficiency in public buildings performed at all pilot sites of the SMARTSPACES project consortium. Collection process, approach and standards defined are being presented. The 'fact sheet' summarises functional and non-functional requirements as logical units.

Spanish workshop with SMARTSPACES on 13 November 2012

The Spanish members of 7 EC funded projects eSESH, BECA, 3eSoHo, SMARTSPACES, 3e HOUSES, GreenHospitals and Showe-it organise a workshop in Barcelona, Spain, on 13 November 2012. The workshop is about ICT and its contribution to managing energy use in social housing and public building.

Carbon Action Network magazine and newsletter report about SMARTSPACES

The new CAN (Carbon Action Network) magazine and newsletter report about the SMARTSPACES project is now available. The Carbon Action Network (CAN) is a not-for-profit organisation supporting local government officers with a remit for reducing all aspects of the UK's domestic-sector carbon footprint and tackling fuel poverty.

SMARTSPACES meeting in Belgrade on national Serbian TV

On 4th and 5th September 2012, the SMARTSPACES partners met in Belgrade, Serbia. One highlight was the attendance of Dejan Vasovic, the third major of Belgrade, who emphasised the relevance of SMARTSPACES for the green and technological agenda of Belgrade. Several newspapers and a TV show reported about the meeting.

The SMARTSPACES project enables public authorities in Europe significantly to improve their management of energy in the buildings they occupy. The SMARTSPACES energy optimisation service exploits the potential of ICT including smart metering for significant energy saving in public buildings. The implementation of operational services includes 11 pilot sites with more than 550 buildings in 8 countries with almost 20,000 professionals and staff users and reaching more than 6,000,000 visitors annually. The project is co-funded by the European Commission within the CIP ICT Policy Support Programme.
